To bravely go where no explorer has gone before into the brain of a half-wit creative like myself. I get caught up in the jumble of all of my ideas and I am looking at what creating and creativity can do for myself and others. I have plans to share more with you all as I merrily go along in my life. I am working out some new ideas and I will be inviting all of you creative people, artists, writers, photographers, poets, designers and the like to join me on my blog as guests! I want to get your answers to the questions I have just finished asking myself. If you are interested in being part of my blog please feel free to contact me through this blog. I am looking at posting a guest interview along with creative work once a month. I am also going to take the time to write about some of my creative inspirations, the people that really have me thinking and figuring things out. Until next time :”BE BOLD, BE BRAVE, BE AMAZING” — Simon de Pury
This my friends was a challenging question to answer without sounding pretentious or simplistic. So here it goes, I would like to make a world where people are not afraid to express themselves through their creativity and they are on purpose in their lives, living their truth.
I know this sounds simplistic, but you know I really believe we can do it if we just get over ourselves and free ourselves from the fear of being who we are meant to be! I want to inspire, experiment, create and experience all that we are here for. Let’s get started on those projects that will evoke all the emotions that we want to explore, be daring and brave, go on I know you can. You can do it quietly and alone or you can invite a group of people to help you create your dreams. As Ms. Valerie Frizzle in the The Magic School Bus series often exclaims “Take chances, make mistakes, get messy!”
Each and every single one of us are “Makers” , so ask yourself, what is it that you really want to make? With each project there may be a different answer, but at least we are out there being true to ourselves and dancing to our own music. Now go get messy! Don’t forget to have fun whatever the journey you are embarking on! Experiment, Inspire, Create, Experience….

The truth is I recognize being “BLOCKED” for what it is. I understand that it is me fear of what will happen if I “FAIL” or more importantly what will happen if I “SUCCEED”. There are ways that I work on handling these fears. In fact I have a number of tools at my disposal.
I go to various wells of inspiration to fix the fears and put them to rest. I like to pick up books or they call to me such as foolsgold by Susan G. Wooldridge, Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg, The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, Manifesting Your Destiny by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, or a Return to Love by Marianne Williamson just to name a few. I also refer back to The Dark Side of the Light Chasers by Debbie Ford work that continues to guide and inspire me.
Then there are other wells such as music that I listen on my head-phones to while I free-write in my journal or even a scrap bit of paper. I find taking a walk, meditating, looking at paintings or photographs, cutting out magazines etc for collage and all of those other acts of creation break down the walls between my fear and my self expression. I would love to hear from artists in all art forms as to what they find breaks through the blocks that they experience on their journey. I have a very active imagination I am exploring and sometimes even explorers get lost and afraid. Here’s to another question answered!

You are the one who needs to take the lead in the story of your life, stop letting others take the lead away from you. I have finally come to my senses and realized I need to send “FEAR” packing or I won’t get anywhere in this life that was given to me as a gift to experience and to share with others. All that I have been writing about up to this point in Charlottes Row Blog has been to lead up to the next steps. I am going to start talking about more about process and what that means to every person who creates. Artists, writers, photographers, actors, musicians and the like. If you are creative person I would love to hear from you about your process and how you work. I am developing a set of questions that I would like to ask and would love to hear from anyone who is in touch with their creative process and what that means to them. Also if you are creative no matter what field you work in tell me about that. I am open to what the universe brings me. I am lucky to be connected with many creative people, now I want to talk about the process.
The great adventure begins and be sure to check out my poetry blog:
Thank- you and remember you are BRAVE, BOLD, and AMAZING !

I have been like a crazy woman in rush hour traffic! You know the one who pounds her head on the steering wheel and mumbles to herself about how she isn’t getting anywhere with her life. The one who says “What’s the use” and the guy over in the car next her wonders if she’s trying to tell him something. She is wildly gesticulating and ranting on, the guy looks at her smiles and waves. She smiles then she stops for a moment and hears a call from within, and no it’s not the radio, it is a voice telling her that she can still get her life on track, time has not run out! It is time to get back into the lane that’s moving and listen carefully and you won’t end up having everything crash down around you. She had been too busy paying attention, but not really listening. “Now that the storm your ego has created is over listen carefully”.
I have been called to read foolsgold by Susan G. Wooldridge again and to pay close attention to what it is saying. foolsgold is described as a field around us, or state of being where everything can be transformed by our seeing and creativity. It describes a paradox, the value in what may seem worthless. My ranting has been so loud that I now know that I have to re-enter my true self. It is time to get back what I lost in all of the folly, on this road-trip that became the rush hour traffic this writer got stuck in. My creative process got broken and it has been in need of repairs so it is to a book that centers me that I return. One creative foot in front of the other. Find your touchstones and hold them close for they will lead you to a better place.
Broken hearts and loss of confidence in creativity have been plaguing my thoughts! I have been falling into a “sea of anarchy” in my own mind. Right now I feel like every cliché that was ever written. The hole of deep despair has been swallowing me up and not letting me go.
I’ve been crying those big fat tears to cleanse this fearful heart of mine. What are these slights that I perceive? It has been breaking my heart not to share with you. To tell you the truth it is one of those situations where I have let myself down and hurt myself before you can break my heart. Just like when I was a young woman in a relationship with someone and I was going to break up with the man who I was interested in before he could break-up with me. The self-saboteur!
Well, I promise you this I am here for the long haul! I am a writer and I have to pick myself up by my own bootstraps and take the risks I “know” that I want to take. To walk down a new street and to commit to the relationship of writer to her page. Let the love affair resume! I will be back next week with more of my creative thoughts! I promise. Make a pledge to yourself that no matter what may come, you will commit to the page and we can all support one another in our creative ventures.
Whatever we do in the world, if love is not the reason behind why are we doing it? When fear is fueling your creations or plans then there is bound to be a problem and an outcome that is not loving. For as we all know we only have to focus on the lack of love to see it expand and envelope our lives. I have been observing many events from the outside and wondering what is going on when so many terrible things are happening and I have come to believe that it is to remind us that our focus needs to shift. Tragedy comes along to remind us what is important, it is time to fall in love with your life and to build that life. What do you want to create in the coming year? What mark do you want to leave on this planet? These are the kind of things I am thinking about as we move into a season of contemplation and the end of another year.
Celebrate your life, your loves and your loved ones. be thankful for what you have learned this year and take stock of all that you have found. I found out that love is the only reason to do anything and if love is not behind what you are doing it will go another way. Finding your way back to love is the path. I send love and prayers to all especially those who are moving through a time of grief and tragedy, you are strong, you are not alone, you are loved and embraced by the universe. Here is to creating a better world, by simply remembering the reason you are here and that reason is love.
Where and how one finds sanctuary is what I have been contemplating today. I find creativity to be my holy place of refuge. A place to explore and consider is found inside my creative mind. Writing offers one’s heart and mind sanctuary from things that are going on in the world that can only serve to break us. Writing is a sacred act that helps us to find our place in the world, to share our stories and to make sense of what appears to darken our lives. Writing, taking photographs, painting, cooking, composing and any other creative act can only bring light to the world. We are the creators of our destiny and through our light we will find our way. When I sit down to write I feel a sense of intense fascination, waiting to see what will come out on the page. Even the mechanics of writing and creating fascinate me. May you find your sanctuary and go to that place where you can contemplate what you will share with the world. I look forward to all of your creations and thoughts.
“If you express what is inside of you, what is inside you will save you. If you don’t express what is inside of you, what is inside you can kill you.” Gospel of St. Thomas
I am in this creative pulse, I am in a new beat of life, love and movement! Out walking, nature is transpiring around me. I read a new meaning for impulse: inner beat or pulse like breath or heartbeat, our connection to the music of the spheres. Thank you Susan G. Wooldridge! I have been reading and loving foolsgold by Susan and I highly recommend this if you are looking to re-ignite your passion for life, and the creativity that is a gift to us all. This book really gets you thinking in a constructive and thoughtful flow. I love this one “Let poetry be like a key opening a thousand doors.” When I was reading yesterday, I was looking up different performers websites and I was so thrilled to come across work I had not heard by Imogen Heap. One the songs I really like is Minds Without Fear. I fully embrace the idea that we can do so much more if our minds are without fear. So my friends, I wish you courage, love and peace in all of your encounters, your creations and your life through the coming days and into the future. Imagine the brilliant world we can create if we all focus on these thoughts. We are the courage we wish to have, we are the peace we wish to create, we are the love we desire to share.
This is note to let people know that every now and then you need to refuel. It’s important to take a break from things and to reflect on your life. I have been doing plenty of that and I am beginning to feel the benefits of this break and I look forward to posting more about being creative in the coming weeks. I hope everyone is experiencing a wonderful September. It is so beautiful where I live right now that I have been out wandering and to me wandering is great for creativity. In fact walking, daydreaming, writing in my journal is bringing me back to myself. I love life and I love writing, it is part of the essence of who I am. I look forward to finding out more about others and their creative ideas. Until next time, take care and stay in tune with yourself and the world around you because there is plenty of inspiration out there. May you experience peace and love wherever you go.
